A Bit About Alex...
I’m Alex (She/her)
— an independent celebrant based in Swansea and the heart behind Rites and Roots.
I create ceremonies that feel warm, grounded, and a little bit magical, whether you’re getting married, eloping somewhere wild, or honouring a life with love and honesty.
Before this, I spent years as a registrar and even longer in community pubs and live music venues — the kind of places where you learn to read a room, hold space, and gently wrangle chaos with a smile.
I bring all of that into my ceremonies… minus the sticky floors!
I’m proudly LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergent‑friendly, and eco‑conscious.
Whoever you are, whatever you believe, and however your brain works — you’re welcome here.
I’m all about inclusive, accessible ceremonies that feel like you and tread lightly on the planet.
My taste in music is wildly eclectic — from classical strings to punk ballads and rave anthems — so whatever soundtrack your story needs (If any at all!), I’m here for it. No judgement. Ever.
